Jumping right in, gaogaigirl and I are putting together an Ancient Magus Bride zine! :)
Based on the themes of gardening, foraging and working with nature, the zine will be focused on short comics (1-5 pages), single page illustrations and a hint of prose centered around all things verdant and English.
We’ve already reached out to some of the artists whose work has inspired us in the past and commissioned a wonderful cover, but would love a few more artists to round things out.
If you’d like to do a piece for the zine (with an emphasis on short comics), please feel free to drop me a link to your art via message and a description of what you’d like to do before December 21st and we’ll get back to you in the new year. Unfortunately we’re only able to choose a small number of artists due to our current workloads - apologies!
Other details to know upfront:
- The final zine will be digital only (no print version), to be released as a PDF here on tumblr - Black and white (unless you’d prefer to work in colour, it’s up to you) - Dimensions: B6 12.8cm × 18.2 cm at 300DPI * - Sketches due January 31, finals due February 28 - Compensation: This is a for-fun comic that will be available by donation. Artists will be able to choose an environmental charity and a link will be posted along with the final zine.
* We’re creating the zine at print size so that artists will be able to print their work for shows if they so choose.
